If you are an impatient person who doesn't like to read a paragraph of simple directions, um I don't know. If you bought the game and don't like it, then I feel for you, because I don't like it when that happens to me.īut I have to say that the reasons given here are, well, a little shallow - "I don't want to read all that" - "I'm not good at anything when the game starts so I get impatient and frustrated" - "I can't remember the names of people and places I've never heard of before immediately so why bother". To get good at any decent game takes time. I agree you can spend a lot of time on it, but then that's true of pac-man too. Yeah all you have to do to get out of the first town is scrounge up 14 gold which is nothing. They quoted up to 6k polygons per character, but i think that is because they render equiptment on top of the actual model, which adds a lot of polys when you have armor, helmet, boots, sword, lantern and so on. I decided ot have a half hour game before leaving today, I ended up playing for 2h straight! I didnt know that it had been 10 minutes (this game fucks with your sense of time). I cant decide wether it just falls short or just surpasses Daggerfall. Now, does this mean that I dont like the game? Hell no! This is one of the best games Ive ever played! Its so immersive that. Would it really have been that hard to make good connections between body parts?Īnd now for my biggest complaint: What is the poly count on these things? The people seem to be rather high polycount while still looking like also think that they should have implemented some sort of system to keep from rendering non-visible polygons, or at least some sort of LOD system. well they're ok, but the way the head connects to the body, or the arms to the body, its like looking back at Jedi Knight 1 or Oni. It may be small, but there are a lot of these small things which you could change (or give the option to turn off) and make the game run WAY faster. For instance, i nthe town of Belthora (or something like that) they added a third polygon to the steps to make them look rounded. look great at times and look like dick at others. Mind you its no worse than games like dungeon master (which I loved) so I can look past that, though if I could import Jedi Knight 2s sword fighting. My biggest gripe is tied between both the graphics and the combat. get out your traveling boots, coz you're gonna be walking for a good part of your gaming time.Īnyway, not your average game that you can fire up for 1-2 hours to have a quick gamin fix.
+ your character walks slow, as mentionned. My guess, about 4-5 hours, EASILY, before you start to know what you're doing, get to the fighter's guild, and start questing. I don't think you can, lets say, join the fighter's guild and start to do quests in like two hours. Huge learning curve, (as in, read LOTS before you start to become familiar, and IMHO, LOTS of time walking and looking around to become familiar with places, people and events.) Requires massive amount of time and effort to get into, but who knows, maybe once you've spent that time and effort then the game becomes really enjoyable. From what I've seen, not that incredible. I've been playing RPG's since FF(1), played Arena, Daggerfall, and this one. Long in the sens that it looks like playing it will be very tedious, anyway, maybe not. But anyway, seems way too long and demanding. or meh.Īnyway, I might give it another try tonight. Like I said, I played it for two hours, and my reaction was. Yeah, basically Arena was the first part of The Elder's scrolls, Daggerfall was the second part, and Morrowind is the third.
